Mark Baumer walks like an old man. He only takes three inch strides. This morning he was anxious so he went for a long walk, but for the entirety of the walk he limited his strides to less than two inches. Once he thought about getting a job as a hot air balloon. That was the day before he was supposed to graduate from high school. He asked his dad to buy him a company that sold hot air balloons, but his dad told him he had to go to Harvard Business School before he would buy him a company that sells hot air balloons. Mark Baumer does not have time to apply to Harvard Business School because he is too busy applying for jobs. He just wrote a cover letter. In the cover letter he said he would work for minimum wage if he was given health insurance. He said, “The stress of not having health insurance does not give me faith in the American dream. I think you should give me a job with health insurance. I will work for minimum wage ($7.50 per hour or $15,600 per year). I think that is a good deal for you. I have a master’s degree.”
