Julie Wernersbach is a writer and bookseller living on Long Island, New York. Her fiction has appeared in Bennington Review, Portland Review, and Arcadia magazine, which nominated her short story “Happiness” for a Pushcart Prize. Her nonfiction has appeared in Texas Monthly online, Austin Monthly, Texas Highways, and Tribeza. She is the author of the nonfiction books Vegan Survival Guide to Austin (The History Press) and The Swimming Holes of Texas (University of Texas Press). Julie is the former Literary Director of the Texas Book Festival and former Marketing Director of BookPeople, the largest independent bookstore in Texas. She is currently the General Manager of Book Revue, a large independent bookstore on Long Island.
