Joseph Modugno is a 2016 graduate of the MFA Programs in Writing at the University of California, Irvine. He grew up in Boston and went to the U.S. Military Academy at West Point before transferring to UMass Amherst and completing his education in English. After college, Joseph worked as a Peace Corps volunteer and teacher in Gansu, China’s northwestern frontier, and backpacked through the high deserts of Tibet, Sinkiang, the Himalayas, and the highlands of Vietnam and Southeast Asia before returning home. He has studied fiction at Grub Street Writing Center in Boston and attended the Squaw Valley Community of Writers Workshop in California. Currently, Joseph is working on editing his novel, Saigon: A Song of Rage and Praise and Coming Rain and his story collection, Full of Grace, Pray for us Sinners.
