John Slater
 John Slater is a Cistercian monk in upstate New York where he bakes, gardens and cares for the infirm. His work has appeared in various journals in the U.S. and Canada, most recently Brink Magazine and Queen's Quarterly; poems are forthcoming in The Drunken Boat, The Adirondack Review and Crab Orchard Review. Currently he is at work on a first collection of his own poems along with a co-translation of the ghazals of Hafiz of Shiraz.
