Trying to describe mountains in a way nobody has

Without using the word peak; without using the word mountain

Do not talk about climbing. Still looking up from the bottom, not knowing how to begin

Obstacles I had to climb over instead of seeing them in the distance, talking about their beauty. They were between the normal things and me

I worried about things. Things a girl should not have to worry about

Not feeling different but being told you are different, not normal, black, fat, ugly, had a boy’s name

It was more than just talk
